A two-group parallel randomised controlled trial (RCT) are carried out, including 150 adult patients (aged 18 years and over) undergoing elective surgery and needing an overnight stay at a significant metropolitan medical center. Qualified participants will undoubtedly be screened for anxiety via the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information rating (APAIS). Individuals with reasonable to extreme anxiety may be arbitrarily allocated to receive the VR session or normal care, in the preoperative holding area. Intervention participants uses a head-mounted VR product to watch and pay attention to a nature scene for ten full minutes.
